Brought up in Borgue, Helen is a ‘Local Lass’. She attended Borgue Primary School and Kirkcudbright Academy, and is a former Kirkcudbright Cornets Lass as part of the Riding of the Marches festivities. Her father, Ian Steele, was also a long serving solicitor with the firm.

Helen started her university life studying Applied Sports Science at Edinburgh University before deciding on a career in law. After graduation, she moved to Strathclyde University to complete her law degree and Diploma. She joined Primrose and Gordon in Dumfries to complete her Traineeship and practised there until moving to Williamson and Henry in June 2014.

As well as her main practice areas, Helen has an interest in Agricultural transactions and legal issues. Helen is also involved in the Crichton Foundation in Dumfries and is a current member on The Women of Dumfries and Galloway Lunch Committee.

She currently lives in Crocketford with her partner Grant and their cat ‘Tiggy’. Outside of work, Helen is a keen ‘keep fit’ person. She enjoys the gym, running (She is a member of Dumfries Running Club), kayaking, waterskiing (when the Scottish weather allows) snowboarding and skiing, and cycling. She also enjoys baking, taking inspiration from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ and tries her hand at upholstery.
